The International Furniture Fair Singapore 2018 (IFFS), held in conjunction with the ASEAN Furniture Show and NOOK Asia, took place from 8 to 11 March at the Singapore EXPO.
Many were the participants, including worldwide professionals from the furniture, interior design, and furnishing industries as well as 400 hosted buyers. In the four days, along with the co-located 35th ASEAN Furniture Show (AFS) and NOOK Asia 2018, the trilogy featured noteworthy designed exhibits presented by 374 exhibitors from 26 countries.
Mr Ernie Koh, Chairman of IFFS Pte Ltd, stated: “We designed IFFS 2018 to be a remarkable, holistic show able to offer fruitful experiences to the industry, with carefully picked brands and first-inclass content. As part of our progression into the next phase of growth, we will be shifting to the Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Marina Bay Sands, where we will continue to inspire greater ideas and innovate better designs.”
Italy shone over Singapore thanks to a project aimed at presenting furniture “Made in Italy” to ASEAN emerging markets and growing southeast Asia. After last year’s great success, “The Italian Hospitality” by Giulio Cappellini has struck again at IFFS. The event was organised in collaboration with Marilena Puppi, CEO of OGS, exclusive IFFS representative in Europe and Middle East.
HOME Italia participated as media partner at this journey into elegance, quality research, excellence, technology and great artisanal tradition.
“A great novelty in the 2018 setting” – explained architect Giulio Cappellini – “was the emphasis on ceramic, one of the Italian excellences. It’s used for lining and floors, but also as a decorative element. We also presented bathroom sets, wellness technologies, lighting systems and much more. No other country succeeds in offering such a wide range of opportunities whereas Italy – along with Italian hospitality – was part of a coherent and innovative project, unquestionably powerful.”
The Italian Hospitality welcomed its visitors in a 150 sqm open space equipped with lighting effects, chromatic speakers, graphic elements and design objects capable of creating a strong Italian atmosphere.
Visitors could enjoy the ceramic compositions by Florim and Tonalite, fabric collections by Giovanardi, technological lamps and chandeliers by Icone Luce and La Murrina, a bathroom featuring a VismaraVetro shower, sanitary fittings by Olympia Ceramiche and refined ceramic tiles by Cedit, a living and dining area both furnished by Cappellini.
Precious handmade glass sculptures by Wave Murano Glass also contributed to surprise the visitors in a unique space where they could touch all the items that make the Italian craftsmanship so successful across the world.
The next appointment with IFFS is from 9 – 12 March 2019 at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Marina Bay Sands.
