Now in its XXV edition, the Compasso d’Oro prizes were awarded on June 20, 2018.
The prize, created in 1954 from an idea of architect Gio Ponti, is awarded every three years by ADI – Industrial Design Association to the best products and projects made in Italy. This is the most prestigious award in the field of industrial deign.
For the 2018 edition, more than 1,200 products were spontaneously nominated by designers and companies, of which 283 were submitted to the attention of the international jury that decreed the winners. 16 were awarded the Compasso d’Oro, while another 56 were awarded a Mention of Honour. 11 Compasso d’Oro Career Prizes were also awarded to leading figures and companies in the contemporary design scene, as well as 3 prizes and 11 certificates of merit for the Targa Giovani, conceived to enhance projects carried out at Italian universities and by designers in their early stages.
